My Roots: While my financial career may seem circuitous, I realize (at least in hindsight) how fortunate I’ve been to be guided by my own financial life planning goals every step of the way. Early positions included serving as a project economist in the private sector, a county budget analyst, and an assistant finance director in city government. Hitting pause to start a family, I became a remote senior consultant, until my husband Chris and I realized college costs loomed for our two daughters. This led to my becoming CFO for a small start-up company.
Defining Moments: Plan or die! Anyone who knows me laughs when they hear that phrase, which I borrowed from a favorite book of the same title. I use it often, and yes, I love to plan. As the authors describe it, an effective plan is based on your values. Rather than limiting you, it brings you freedom to move and act without fear, allowing you to be more flexible and innovative. It even shapes my favorite hobby, garden design. I plant with a vision in mind, and modify the design as plants grow and change.
At Cedar Financial: My passion for life planning drew me to Cedar Financial Advisors, where Tim and Peggy share my enthusiasm for navigating clients through their life transitions. It’s a privilege to create financial plans that can grow and change along with each client’s evolving interests.
My “Why”: I love helping to instill the informed confidence each family needs to get to the heart of their financial life well-lived. It nurtures my own aspirations to pursue personal values, flexibility, and freedom.
